Our Mission

NJ Camps support the Camp Industry in the State of New Jersey by monitoring and responding to all legislation and regulation that may impact any and all children’s camps.

We forge relationships with government officials and regulators, making them aware of our profound youth development and economic impact. NJ Camps partners with the NJBIA, the American Camp Association and its legislative committees, and similar camp industry legislative groups across the country.

Advocacy

We Work for Our Members

The Government Affairs Advocacy Program of NJ Camps working in partnership with ACA NY/NJ has gained many critical accomplishments for our member camps. Each year member camps identify priority issues impacting camp operations directing a clearly focused government advocacy program.

Legislative Outreach

Invite a Legislator

Invite a State legislator to tour your camp. Tell them about your camp, the services you provide, the geographic distribution of your campers, and the economic impact of your business. Let them know what is on your mind. A legislator’s views on bills are often impacted by meeting and hearing directly from employers.

Representation

Regulation Monitoring

NJ Camps have become acutely aware of the importance of representation in Trenton, and since 2006, NJ Camps has employed the efforts of experienced Trenton lobbyist Claudine Leone. The results have been immediate and substantial!  Our legislative outreach has had real impact for our members.
